Research Focus

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kittipong Boonlong works on evolutionary optimization — genetic algorithms in particular — and its application to real engineering and vehicle-dynamics problems. His research spans multi-objective and cooperative co-evolutionary genetic algorithms, their use for vibration-based structural damage detection, road-profile identification from a vehicle’s vibration response, and multi-objective portfolio optimization in electricity markets. The common thread is developing and refining GA-based search and optimization methods and validating them against practical mechanical- and financial-engineering problems.
