Research Focus
Dr. Paiboon Limpitipanich, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, works on the mechanics of composite materials and structures, using nonlinear finite-element analysis alongside experimental testing. His research includes crack-path simulation in foam-core sandwich beams under mixed-mode loading, and the failure behavior of drilled carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) plates with multiple holes under bending. He has also contributed to energy-policy research examining the economy-wide impacts of promoting electric motorcycles in Thailand, connecting his structural/materials work with his listed interest in energy policy.
