Research Focus
A leading voice on concrete durability in marine environments, his work asks how ordinary Portland cement can be replaced or supplemented — with fly ash, geopolymer binders, and recycled aggregate — without sacrificing resistance to chloride attack and steel corrosion. Long-running field-monitoring studies, some spanning a decade or more, underpin his models for predicting chloride penetration in structures exposed to Thailand’s coastal conditions, work recognized with Burapha University’s Outstanding Mid-Career Researcher award at BUU Researcher Day 2022.
